Noise From Concert at Fairgrounds
* Re “Warped Tour Brings Music, Not Mayhem to Rock Fans,” June 29.
If that was music, I prefer mayhem. This is not Woodstock. People live here!
I live about three blocks from the stage area, and the noise was so loud that I had to close all the windows and blinds to keep from becoming violent. There must be a limit on the volume of speakers.
If the state-owned fairgrounds is going to permit “concerts” here, it should regulate the events so that they don’t become a nuisance to those of us who live within a 10-block radius.
Also, it is well-established that noise that loud can cause permanent hearing loss in about 20 minutes. Pity the kids who attended who were not informed. The “musicians” should already know better.
