On the Carpet, Time for Bold Statements
The most important accessory at the Golden Globes Sunday wasn’t a diamond bracelet or a satin shawl. It was an umbrella.
But the rain didn’t stop the fashion parade. Singer Courtney Love did grunge glamour in a John Galliano couture slashed and beaded black gown. Halle Berry wore a slinky white gown with red accents.
Pauletta Washington, wife of Denzel, was dressed in a red off-the-shoulder gown and carried a red evening bag in the shape of boxing gloves.
L.A. designers created some of the most head-turning gowns. Camryn Manheim opted for a leather and silk bustier dress by Shocking the House Couture. Cynthia Garrett slithered in a burgundy dress by Bradley Bayou.
Some stars made last-minute fashion changes to accommodate the weather. Best TV actress winner Sarah Jessica Parker, in a beaded Richard Tyler ball gown, just let her hair flow. “I have curly, frizzy hair anyway,” she said.
