The Villa Park Chat Group will discuss the works of writer Belva Plain at its Aug. 17 meeting. Among the best-selling author’s works are “Secrecy,†“Tapestry†and “Evergreen,†the story of a Jewish girl from Poland who comes to America at the turn of the century and rises from a household maid to a wealthy matriarch. Coffee is provided, and discussions usually run about one hour. The group meets the third Tuesday of each month at 11 a.m. at the Villa Park Library, 17865 Santiago Blvd. Information: (714) 998-0861.
