In honor of Elvis Presley’s 64th birthday today, fans can stop by the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace gift shop to buy “The President and the King” goodies. Presley’s impromptu Oval Office meeting with Nixon on Dec. 21, 1970, resulted in the handshake seen ‘round the world. The gift shop may be visited without library admission.
Saturday, the library will offer free admission and a Bruce Herschensohn lecture in honor of Nixon’s 86th birthday. A military honor guard will also place a wreath on Nixon’s grave. Information: (714) 993-5075.
