TONIGHT

DODGERS’

CARLOS PEREZ

(0-2, 6.59 ERA)

vs.

BRAVES’

JOHN SMOLTZ

(1-0, 2.77 ERA)

Update--The Dodgers struggled against the National League East-champion Braves last season, losing the last six meetings. After cruising through the first six innings in his two starts this season, Perez was battered in the seventh innings. Manager Davey Johnson was upset with himself for not removing Perez after the sixth inning Wednesday during a 6-2 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Perez gave up four runs in the seventh before being replaced with two out. Smoltz, coming off a no-decision in his previous outing, is scheduled to make his third start. The right-hander is 14-11 with a 2.84 earned-run average in 30 games against the Dodgers.

Tuesday, 7 p.m.--Darren Dreifort (2-0, 2.25) vs. Kevin Millwood (1-1, 5.68).

Wednesday, 7:30 p.m.--Kevin Brown (1-1, 3.15) vs. Odalis Perez (0-0, 0.00).
