IMF to Release Global Economy Forecast

The International Monetary Fund will issue views and forecasts on the state of the world economy on Tuesday, amid signs that a deep economic crisis may at last have passed its peak. The launch of the IMF’s World Economic Outlook will be followed by a string of top-level gatherings in Washington this week as the IMF and the World Bank hold their spring meetings. Among the topics will be debt relief, including the reform of a landmark international program for highly indebted countries, which rewards poor but reformist debtor states by forgiving as much as 80% of their debt.
