Nadadores’ Sorgi Wins 3-Meter Title at Spring Nationals

Erica Sorgi of Capistrano Valley High won her fourth national championship in the women’s three-meter springboard final Saturday at the U.S. Spring National Diving Championships in Orlando, Fla.

Sorgi, who finished with 530.52 points, was more than 40 points better than second-place Jenny Lingamfelter of Southern Methodist. Sorgi, representing the Mission Viejo Nadadores, has qualified for a berth for the Pan Am and World University Games.

Mark Ruiz of Team Orlando Diving won the men’s three-meter diving, with 649.47 points.

Chris Devine of the Montgomery Dive Club and P.J. Bogart of the Minnesota Diving Club, won the three-meter synchronized diving finals with 321.78 points.

Kathy Pesek of Tennessee and Tracy Bonner of Tennessee Diving won the women’s three-meter synchronized finals with 279.57.
