Baseball

Owens had seven hits in 14 at-bats in the Titans’ last four games, driving in five runs and scoring five. Owens, a junior third baseman from La Habra who played at Sonora High, is batting .358 for the season. He leads the team in home runs with eight and is second in runs batted in with 48.

THIS WEEK

Baseball: The Titans are 3 1/2 games ahead of Nevada, their closest pursuer in the Big West Conference race. Fullerton, ranked No. 8 nationally, hosts Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in a three-game series beginning at 7 p.m. Friday at Titan Field. Games Saturday and Sunday start at 1 p.m.

Softball: The Titans (25-17, 5-4) host UC Santa Barbara in a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Saturday and a single game at 2 p.m. Sunday. They also host Loyola Marymount at 5 p.m. next Wednesday. Stephenie Little became the school’s single-season home run leader last weekend, hitting her 16th of the season.

Tennis: The Titans play at UC Santa Barbara at 2 p.m. Tuesday before competing in the conference tournament at Ojai beginning next Wednesday.

Track and field: Fullerton will compete in the Mt. San Antonio College Relays in Walnut Friday through Sunday.
