Jason Reuss

Orange Coast, Freshman

Baseball

Reuss, an outfielder from Canyon High, hit four home runs and drove in 13 runs in three games. Three of his home runs, including two grand slams, came in an 11-5 victory over first-place Cypress. Reuss banged a grand slam in the seventh inning to put OCC ahead, 6-5, then hit another in the eighth.

Mandy Rockwell

Cypress, Sophomore

Softball

Rockwell, from Los Alamitos High, had a very satisfying week. She took care of her college future by committing to Louisville, then two complete-game victories. She pitched a five-hitter with a season-high 14 strikeouts against Saddleback Friday and Cypress won, 3-0. The day before she beat Fullerton, 4-1.
