Newbury Park 2, Moorpark 1--Oli Keohohou collected both hits for the Panthers and scored both runs, including the game-winner on a head-first slide in the sixth at Moorpark.
With the score 1-1, Keohohou led off the sixth with a single, advanced to second on an error and stole third. She scored on a groundout, avoiding the tag by catcher Kellie Konysky.
Newbury Park (11-3, 4-0) tied the score, 1-1, in the third when Keohohou hit a two-out triple to right and scored on a wild pitch by Tara Barker.
Barker, a freshman, finished with a two-hitter for Moorpark (8-6, 0-3), which had five hits.

Crescenta Valley 11, Glendale 0--Lynette Miranda’s two-out single in the seventh spoiled sophomore Meredith Cervenka’s bid for a perfect game in a Pacific League opener at Montrose Park.
Cervenka (10-5), who retired the next batter, struck out 12.
Mel McCauley had three hits and drove in three runs for Crescenta Valley (11-5).
Quartz Hill 15, Antelope Valley 0--Jodie Cox had two hits, including her region-leading eighth home run, and three runs batted in for the Rebels (15-1) in a Golden League opener at Antelope Valley that was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.
Cox (15-1) got the victory after giving up one hit and striking out six in the first three innings.
Lancaster 3, Palmdale 1--Heather Nix hit a two-out, two-run home run to highlight a three-run rally in the seventh by the Eagles (3-6) in a Golden League opener at Palmdale (7-8).
Nix’s homer made a loser out of Andrea Galindo, who allowed only two hits entering the seventh.
L.A. Baptist 1, Paraclete 0--Anni Iverson’s run-scoring single two out in the eighth gave the Knights (4-6) an upset over Paraclete (8-8) in an Alpha League opener at L.A. Baptist.
Van Nuys 7, Poly 6--Lilliana Pulido’s sacrifice fly in the seventh capped a six-run rally to give the Wolves (2-11, 1-2) a Valley Pac-8 Conference victory.
