Bishop Estate Trustee Charged With Theft

Bishop Estate trustee Richard S. H. Wong, who is accused of taking kickbacks, was indicted in Honolulu on three felony counts, the latest embarrassment for the educational trust that is also Hawaii’s biggest landowner. The charges include theft in the first degree, perjury and criminal conspiracy. Wong is accused of taking $115,800 in kickbacks tied to real estate transactions worth $21.9 million.
