Adamczyk, Guy Pitch No-Hitter
Tyler Adamczyk and Joe Guy of Westlake High combined on a no-hitter in a 6-1 victory over Bolsa Grande in a consolation semifinal of the Corona del Mar baseball tournament on Tuesday at Newport Harbor.
Adamczyk started and struck out two, walked four and allowed an unearned run in four innings.
Guy (2-0) struck out one and walked two in three innings.
Jeff Dragicevich of Westlake (10-2-1) hit a run-scoring triple in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie.
Thousand Oaks 9, Paso Robles 1--Tracy Goebel pitched a four-hitter, had three hits and two runs batted in for the Lancers (7-4) in the quarterfinals of the Atascadero tournament.
Camarillo 13, Buena 1--Shane Miranda had two home runs and five RBIs, and Eric Foster hit a grand slam for the Scorpions (11-2) in a first-round game of the Channel League Challenge at Buena.
Cal State Northridge-UC Santa Barbara, rain--The nonconference game was rescheduled for 2:30 p.m. on May 11 at Northridge.
TENNIS
Maureen Diaz of Glendale, playing in the girls’ 18 division, defeated Aleke Tsoubanos of Chesterfield, Mo., 6-4, 6-2, and was the only winner from the region in singles play on Tuesday in the round of 32 at the Easter Bowl Junior Championships in Grenelefe, Fla.
Sophomore Phillip Sheng of Thousand Oaks High and junior Nick Weiss of Calabasas lost in boys’ 16s; Tiffany Brymer of Apple Valley fell in girls’ 18s and Erica Sauer of Somis lost in girls’ 14s.
HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL
Simi Valley 2, Peninsula 0--Brittney Green pitched a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and had two RBIs in a first-round game of the Righetti tournament.
The game was played over Monday and Tuesday because of rain. Simi Valley is 9-0.
BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL
Monroe d. Sylmar, 15-0, 15-2, 15-4--Jose Sanchez had 10 kills for the Vikings, ranked No. 7 in the region by The Times.
Monroe (7-0, 4-0) had only one hitting error.
