The City Council recently approved a $50,000 grant from Angels Care and the Kiwanis Club that’s earmarked for the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency. The grant, which needed council approval to be accepted, will go toward improving Flower Street Park, at Flower and 3rd streets. This is the last of four grants totaling $100,000 for improvements to the park. Funding for this grant comes from the Robert R. McCormick Tribune Foundation. The grant will be used to install irrigation and security lighting and to improve landscaping along the park’s property line wall. Information: (714) 571-4200.
