Residents can pick up free bookmarks designed by local children at the Los Alamitos Rossmoor Library, 12700 Montecito Road, next week. The library sponsored a design contest in February to prepare for National Library Week, which begins Monday.
The winning artists are Elise McCallum, a second-grader at McGaugh Elementary School; Amanda Kay Sinks, a third-grader at Hopkinson Elementary School; Catherine Yi, in the fifth grade at Los Alamitos Elementary School; and Jessica Pummel, in the eighth grade at McAuliffe Middle School.
