1996 Flor de Pingus, Ribera del Duero (About $26)

This is yet another stunning Tempranillo-based wine from the emerging Ribera del Duero region of north central Spain. It has gorgeous fruit and, with its firm structure and ripe tannins, the texture of close-cropped velvet. It’s a wine to drink now, but be sure to put a few bottles away, because this elegant Spanish wine will only get better with time.
