Cal State Fullerton’s offense and 17-game winning streak were stopped by host Pacific in a Big West Conference baseball game Saturday.

Two Tiger pitchers held the Titans to eight hits as Pacific won, 4-3.

Fullerton’s Spencer Oborn extended his hitting streak to 32 games but also hit into a double play to end the game.

Travis Fleming (3-0) gave up three runs (one earned) in the first seven innings for the victory and Mark Short worked the final two innings for his fifth save.

But the Titans did have some late chances.

Chris Beck walked and Adam Rifkin singled to start the eighth. Short entered and gave up a run-scoring single to Ryan Owens, cutting the Pacific lead to 4-2.

Short got Robert Guzman to hit into a double play. Rifkin later scored on a passed ball to make it 4-3, but Jeff Gates struck out to end the inning.

David Bacani and Ryan Johnson had one-out singles in the ninth before Oborn grounded into a double play.
