* Re your March 28 editorial endorsing Madison Shockley in the 10th District City Council race: I am not a “Korean American businessman” but, in fact, a former civil servant employed by the L.A. Department of Water and Power and most recently Los Angeles County as an employment development specialist with the Department of Public Social Services.

My job was to find people jobs who were transitioning from welfare to work. In this role, I established partnerships with corporations and small business owners creating employment opportunities in the inner city. I am an activist who happens to be a Korean American.
