Chapman University will convene theologians from Orange County and around the world next Thursday and Friday to discuss the role of religion in supporting human rights.
The conference, sponsored by the university’s religious studies department, is the third in a series addressing global religious issues.
Topics will include a proposed declaration of human rights by the world’s religions and whether there is a universal foundation for ethical action.
Speakers will include theologians Arvind Sharma of McGill University, Joseph Runzo of Chapman, Lina Gupta of Glendale College and Brian Hebblethwaite of Cambridge University.
The conference, open to the public at no charge, runs from 1 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday. Information: (714) 628-7390.
