Bible Outfit Leaving
Wycliffe Bible Translators USA plans to move its headquarters from Huntington Beach to Orlando, Fla., this summer. The company said it hopes the move will allow it to strengthen its work worldwide.
“Wycliffe USA has experienced 60 years of growth and progress in California, but as we look toward the future and changing needs of Bible translation around the globe, we realize it is also time for a change here in the United States,” said Roy Peterson, executive director.
“As we considered how we could best serve our personnel, the American church and the work overseas, it became apparent that in our present location we cannot provide the facilities and services needed.”
The company will move about 100 staff members and their families to Orlando and plans to hire 200 people later in the year. The new campus, which is intended to last at least 25 years, will include an interactive visitor center and facilities for conferences.
