SATURDAY RHYTHM & BLUES: A worship service led by a rhythm and blues band, Saturday Night Alive, will be held at 5:30 tonight at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 17400 Vanowen St., Van Nuys. SUNRISE EASTER SERVICES: The 23rd annual San Fernando Valley intercommunity sunrise service will begin at 6 a.m. Sunday on the forecourt of the Birth of Liberty Mosaic at Hollywood Hills Forest Lawn, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive. The Rev. Don Moomaw will give the principal address and the Sanctuary Choir and Rhythm and Brass Orchestra of Emmanuel Evangelical Church in Burbank will provide music. White doves will be released into the sky at dawn. Easter worship services will also be held at 6 a.m. Sunday at the Hall of the Crucifixion-Resurrection at Glendale Forest Lawn, 1712 S. Glendale Ave. The program will include a presentation of Jan Styka’s “The Crucifixion,” performed in Spanish. The Rev. Luis Schettini will give the principal address. Both services are free. NEW VALLEY CONGREGATION: To kick off its new congregation, Wings of Faith will sponsor an outdoor Easter sunrise service at 6 a.m. Sunday at the Valley Christian Athletic Assn., 16830 Ventura Blvd., Encino. EASTER CELEBRATION: “Easter ‘99,” a service including live music by Deniece Williams and Blake Ewing and a continental breakfast, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Cal State Northridge Matador Football Stadium, 18111 Nordhoff St. Pastor Dudley C. Rutherford will give the Easter message. “The Easter Adventure for Kids” will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. during which children can go on an adventure to meet live Bible characters, earning prizes and candy along the way.
