Muir 35, Hoover 14--The Tornadoes remained winless despite a strong performance by Jason Young, who rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns in 17 carries at Muir.
Hoover (0-9, 0-4) trailed, 15-14, at halftime. Young scored a 65-yard run early in the second quarter and added a 51-yard touchdown run with 58 seconds left in the first half.
Muir (4-5, 3-1) took command behind Roderick Thomas, who scored three second-half touchdowns. Thomas scored on runs of 16 and 30 yards, and returned an interception 12 yards for a touchdown with 24 seconds left to play.
Shelley Townes rushed 18 times for 93 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown for Muir.
Quarterback Daniel Shepard of Hoover completed one of seven passes for six yards.
Muir remained tied for second place with Crescenta Valley, a game behind Arcadia.
