TRI-VALLEY LEAGUE
St. Bonaventure 39, Carpinteria 10--Chris Lombardo completed 14 of 20 passes for 185 yards and four touchdowns, including three to Adam Gray-Hayward as the Seraphs clinched a league title at Carpinteria.
Lombardo threw touchdown passes of 14, 29 and 52 yards to Gray-Hayward, who caught six passes for 147 yards.
Gordo Pinedo returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown for the Seraphs (6-3, 4-0). Pinedo also caught a five-yard touchdown pass from Lombardo early in the fourth quarter to give St. Bonaventure a 39-3 lead.
Jesse Kirk rushed for 106 yards in 15 carries for the Seraphs, who survived 14 penalties for 155 yards.
Carpinteria (6-3, 2-1) played without 12 starters, who were suspended for one game for violating the school’s athletic code.
Oak Park 17, Fillmore 9--Nate Elder completed 10 of 20 passes for 146 yards and a touchdown to lead the Eagles (5-4, 1-2) to victory at Fillmore.
Elder connected with receiver Eric Daley on a 38-yard pass play on the final play of the first quarter. The score was set up by a fumble recovery by Nick Skultety.
Zack Schwartz rushed for 73 yards in 19 carries, including a one-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter to give Oak Park a 17-3 lead.
Fillmore’s Aaron Goodenough caught a 33-yard pass from Isaac Oseguera with 3:46 left to close the margin to 17-9. Goodenough’s 14-yard fumble return helped set up the score for the Flashes (2-7, 0-3).
Fillmore regained possession, but could not advance beyond its own 22-yard line.
