North Hollywood 37, Grant 33--Matthew Hicks ran one yard for a touchdown with 2:25 remaining and the Huskies (3-6, 3-3) came from behind to win at Grant.
Grant (2-6-1, 1-4-1) drove to the North Hollywood 49-yard line on its next possession before Marvin Perez intercepted a pass at the Huskies’ 15 with 2:01 remaining. The interception was Perez’s second of the game.
Hicks sealed Grant’s fate with a 67-yard run to the Lancers’ 19-yard line with 1:25 remaining. Hicks finished with 240 yards in 29 carries, raising his season totals to 1,024 yards in 155 carries.
Hicks’ performance offset that of Grant running back Duriel Carter, who rushed for 232 yards and three touchdowns in 18 carries. Carter, who scored on runs of 89, 20 and 35 yards, has rushed for 879 yards in 114 carries.
Perez also caught four passes from quarterback Billydee Payne for 67 yards and three touchdowns.
The teams combined for 758 yards, including 439 by North Hollywood.
