Rockwell Names O’Shaughnessy Vice President
* James P. O’Shaughnessy has been elected a corporate officer of Costa Mesa-based Rockwell International Corp. He is vice president and chief intellectual property counsel. Before joining Rockwell in 1996, O’Shaughnessy was a partner with the law firm of Foley & Lardner, based in Milwaukee.
* Robert L. McSparran has been appointed manager of real estate for HomeBase Inc., an Irvine chain of home improvement warehouses. In his position, McSparran will be responsible for site selection, acquisition and development of HomeBase stores in the Southwest. He was most recently real estate asset manager of American Stores Properties Inc. in Buena Park.
* Jo-Ann Cameron-Baumgartner has joined Spring Mountain Escrow in Irvine as regional sales and marketing manager. She previously spent 15 years as owner and president of Diversified Media Design, a real estate consulting and public relations firm. Spring Mountain is a subsidiary of WMC Mortgage Corp.
* Larry T. Atkinson has been named director of purchasing for Brock Homes’ home-building divisions in Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura and San Bernardino counties. He was formerly director of purchasing for the Orange County and Inland Empire divisions of Western Pacific Housing. Before that, Atkinson was vice president of purchasing and budgets for the Presley Companies-Southern California region.
* Ralph Frengel has been appointed document production marketing executive at Xerox Corp.’s South Coast operations in Santa Ana. Frengel, who joined the company seven years ago, was previously account manager for commercial printing companies.
* Thomas Hodges has joined O’Connor Construction Management Inc. in Irvine as senior project manager. He will oversee Cal State Long Beach’s new headquarters building project. Hodges was formerly senior architect at UCI Design and Construction Services.
* Mark Hawthorne is the new advertising and promotion manager at Hirsch Electronics Corp. in Irvine, a manufacturer of security access control and security management systems. He has 10 years of experience in marketing and public relations.
* John B. Hoeflich has been appointed president of Liquidmetal Golf in Laguna Niguel. He had been president and chief executive of HD Golf L.L.C. since January 1996. His experience also includes serving as vice president and general manager of the golf division at Head Sports and director of golf club development and product management for Titleist/Foot-Joy Worldwide.
* Michael Rivett has been appointed senior vice president of finance and administration for New Dimension Software’s North American subsidiary in Irvine. He was formerly chief financial officer and vice president of finance and administration for the storage management division of Sterling Software Inc.
* Joseph L. Perring has been named vice president of Catellus Residential Group’s community development division in Irvine. Before joining the company, he was regional manager for Bollenbacher and Kelton, a real estate development company. Perring has also held executive positions with Huitt-Zollars Consulting Engineers, BCE Development/Daon Corp., the Irvine Co. and the Presley Co.
* Sally Fenton has been appointed executive director of the American Heart Assn.’s Orange County/Long Beach office. She was previously a division director of the heart association in Long Beach.
* Phil Salvanti has been named president of Bozell Worldwide Inc.’s Costa Mesa office. Jim Harrington has joined the agency as general manager from the New York office, where he was senior partner and director of client service development. Harvey Hoffenberg, former managing partner and chief creative officer in Costa Mesa, has been reassigned to the agency’s New York office. In addition, the Bozell Technology Group has relocated to Orange County headquarters from Los Angeles.
* J. Troy Martel has joined Triconex Corp. in Irvine as director of nuclear services. He was formerly a senior staff engineer in the process control group of Exxon Chemical in Baytown, Texas. Martel has also served in the Navy as part of the nuclear submarine reactor operations division and at the Navy’s advanced propulsion design training facilities in Idaho.
* Thomas A. Mattioni has been named to the newly created position of medical director for Cardiac Science Inc. in Irvine. He is currently director of electrophysiology and arrhythmia services at the Arizona Heart Institute and the director of the cardiac electrophysiology laboratory at Columbia Medical Center in Phoenix. Mattioni was the principal investigator for Cardiac Sciences’ Powerheart heart monitoring device during clinical trials.
* Masao Suga has been named acting general manager for the Computer Systems division of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. in Irvine. He assumes the role in addition to his position as senior vice president of the computer systems group. Suga succeeds Van Andrews who has left the company.
* Frank McDowell has joined the board of directors of Orange Coast Title Co. in Santa Ana. He is owner of Star Real Estate, which operates four offices in Orange County.
* James Sever has joined Bridge Capital Ltd., a lender specializing in short-term bridge loans, as regional director. He will be based in Newport Beach. Sever was previously chief executive of Trademark Financial Services, a commercial brokerage company.
