Therapy With Pets in Mind
Is Fluffy fussy? Does Rover refuse to roll over?
Joan Rachel Ranquet may be able to tell you why. She says she has a psychic ability to “read” horses, dogs and cats--and a newly opened West Hollywood practice that specializes in pet/owner relationships and coping with lost or dying animals.
“A lot of people want to know their pets’ dying wishes,” Ranquet explains. “Do they want to receive medical treatment or be left alone to die in their owner’s arms? You don’t know why until you talk to them.”
Although lost animal cases are the most difficult, the payoff is enormous, she relates. “Recently, I saw a cat in a tree, in a place with a large driveway and toys in the yard. Sure enough, the owner found her lost cat in a tree.”
Although Ranquet has a lifelong love of animals, she discovered her special talent just a few years ago, while observing animal communicator Lydia Hibby “reading” the thoughts and feelings of horses at the San Raphael Hunt Club.
Ranquet went on to study with Carol Gurney, a self-described interspecies communicator, who told her the ability to read the minds of animals was self-evident. “I guess I had been doing it all along,” Ranquet says.
