TRACK AND FIELD
* Mt. San Antonio College Relays, 8 a.m. Saturday: Mission Viejo senior Ashley Bethel suffered a leg injury during a trip to Boston for the NCAA Indoor Nationals last month and hasn’t run in an invitational meet this season. Mission Viejo usually doesn’t send any athletes to Mt. SAC, but Coach Fred Almond decided Ashley and her freshman sister, Dana, could use the extra work. Ashley was a late entry in the 100 low hurdles, in which she has the county’s best mark this season (14.8), and she’s also entered in the long jump and high jump events. Dana will also compete in the long jump and is an alternate in both hurdle events. Other county athletes to watch will be Marina pole vaulter Katie Rorem and Costa Mesa miler Bruce Hancock. The Mission Viejo boys’ distance medley team, led by Mark Gleason, is also looking to set a county record Saturday.
