The Los Alamitos Unified School District will apply for a $1-million science and technology grant that would be used at campuses districtwide.
The board voted this week to apply for the Science and Technology Renaissance Project grant.
The program is funded by Project Tomorrow, a nonprofit organization involving Orange County businesses and educational institutions that is designed to bring “purposeful technology” to schools countywide.
The district’s proposal will seek to improve its kindergarten-12th grade science program to provide state-of-the-art technology and access to resources beyond the classroom over five years.
