Camarillo’s Ball Signs With Pacific
Hard-throwing right-hander Cindy Ball of Camarillo High, a Times’ All-Ventura County selection the past two seasons, signed a letter of intent with Pacific.
Ball was 13-4 with a 0.45 earned-run average and batted .411 last season.
BASEBALL
Signing on: Jack Cassel, a right-handed pitcher from Kennedy High, signed a letter of intent with Loyola Marymount. He had two saves during last year’s City 4-A playoffs.
Infielder Brett Wayne of Royal signed with St. Mary’s.
FOOTBALL
On the move: When the football season ends, Hart quarterback David Neill will be busy. He plans to visit Colorado State, Fresno State, Nevada and San Diego State.
Failing the grade: Running back Clyde Young of Chatsworth High is academically ineligible and will miss the Chancellors’ playoff game against South Gate on Friday.
Young gained 392 yards and scored four touchdowns since becoming the starter the second half of the season. He will be replaced by Cameron Ajaye.

Horns hook one: Notre Dame midfielder Melissa Rubey has committed to Texas, according to Knight Coach Neezer McNab.
