Splash update--The Splash has won five of its last six games and is coming off a 7-3 victory at Portland Sunday. It is only the Splash’s second victory in eight road games (including seven consecutive losses). Paul Agyeman, who had reconstructive knee surgery in the off-season, scored two goals in each of the last two games, including the game-tying goal in the comeback victory over Indiana on Saturday and the game-winner against Portland. Over the last six games, Danny Barber (15 goals, 11 assists) has seven goals, six assists; player/coach Dale Ervine (13 goals, 14 assists) has six goals, five assists, and Bernie Lilavois (27 goals, 10 assists) has 12 goals, three assists. Lilavois’ 27 goals matches the second-best total in the league. Midfielder Armando Valdivia (nine goals, seven assists) will not play because of a concussion he sustained against Indiana. The defense, anchored by goalkeeper Ruben Fernandez, has allowed 4.9 goals-against over the last eight games.

SeaDogs update--Seattle leads Sacramento by 2 1/2 games and the Splash by four in the Western Division, and is the only team whose goals-against average (4.0) is lower than the Splash’s (5.0). The SeaDogs have won four in a row, have the league’s best record (including 9-1 at home) and the second-worst attendance (4,884). Seattle has won three of four games against the Splash. With a victory, Seattle can clinch its first playoff berth.
