Black Golfers Defend Racial Banter
From Associated Press
HOOVER, Ala. — Black golfers Jim Dent and Walter Morgan said they’ve been exchanging racial banter with the likes of white golfer J.C. Snead for years, and weren’t offended by recent remarks Fuzzy Zoeller made about Tiger Woods.
“The guy was making a joke,” Dent said. “We do that kind of stuff all the time out here.”
“We call J.C. a hillbilly redneck from Virginia and everything, and he jokes back,” Morgan said. “We’re just having fun out here.”
