Crescenta Valley Girls Reign Over Capistrano Valley, 59-52
Michelle Greco scored 15 of her 24 points in the second half to lead Crescenta Valley High to a 59-52 victory over host Capistrano Valley on Saturday night in a nonleague matchup of girls’ basketball powers.
The Falcons (20-2), who led after every quarter, got 11 rebounds and four blocked shots from Kelly Paige.
Greco had 10 rebounds and five assists.
Natasha Combs had 28 points for the Cougars (18-4).

Alemany 82, Notre Dame 41--Kate Beckler had 26 points and Kelli Kobayashi added 18 for the Indians (17-2, 6-0) in a Mission League game at L.A. Baptist High.
Notre Dame fell to 7-12, 2-4 in league play. The Knights fell behind, 25-7, after one quarter and trailed, 42-13, at halftime.
BOYS
Harvard-Westlake 81, St. Francis 57--Jason Collins scored 26 points and grabbed 25 rebounds, and Ryan Smiley had 22 points to pace the Wolverines (23-1, 7-0) to their 12th consecutive victory in the Mission League game at Harvard-Westlake.
Jarron Collins, Jason’s twin, did not play for the Wolverines, the Times’ No. 1-rankled team in the region, because he sprained his left ankle in practice Tuesday. He is expected back for Monday’s game at Loyola.
Anton Cunningham had 31 points and seven assists for St. Francis (13-9, 4-4), which fell behind, 24-5, after one quarter before rallying to outscore Harvard-Westlake, 24-17, in the second quarter.
Notre Dame 71, Alemany 53--Dante Ward scored 15 points and Chris Williams added 14 points and 15 rebounds for the Knights (13-10, 3-5) in a Mission league game at Notre Dame.
Jesus Castillon led the Indians (1-17, 0-8) with 15 points.
Crespi 60, Loyola 56--Howard Johnson made four free throws in the final minute to lift the Celts (8-12, 4-4) in a Mission League game at Crespi.
Rob Turner, who made six of six field-goal attempts, finished with 15 points.
Kevin McDonough had 13 points, including four three-point baskets. Johnson had 11 points.
Highland Hall 43, Hillcrest Christian 35--Taman Van Scoy had 15 points and 18 rebounds for the Hawks (2-11) in a Westside League game at Hillcrest Christian.
Scott Thomsen added 12 points for Highland Hall.
