Learn Another Language--American Sign Language
Christine Jenkins, creator and author of “Buns: A Woman Looks at Men,” has once again created a different kind of videotape, “How to Talk to a Person Who Can’t Hear.” The video stars deaf actor Anthony Natale who teaches, in American Sign Language, more than 300 commonly used words. He uses actual situations with hearing friends to teach conversational signs.
“There are many reasons to learn to sign,” Jenkins says. “It’s a language, it’s fun, and it can be used across a crowded room. Most importantly, if you ever meet a deaf person, you will be able to communicate with them, and they will appreciate it.”
The video is available by mail order only. For more information, fax inquiries to (818) 789-1348.
