Financial Executive at CKE Restaurants Named Vice President
John Fuller has been named vice president, controller, of Anaheim-based CKE Restaurants Inc., the parent company of Carl Karcher Enterprises Inc., Casa Bonita Inc. and Summit Family Restaurants Inc. Fuller joined the company as director of financial services in 1994 and was named director, controller, in 1995. Before that, he was with KPMG Peat Marwick. Gary Zurmuhle has been appointed regional vice president for Carl Karcher Enterprises Inc. He will oversee operations for 110 Carl’s Jr. restaurants located from Los Angeles to central California. Zurmuhle has been with CKE for 16 years, and has been a district manager since 1988, most recently in Bakersfield. For the past year he also served as an international consultant for Carl’s Jr. licensees in Mexico. Also, Joe Villarreal has been named director of distribution for Carl Karcher Enterprises. He will oversee distribution operations for Carl’s Jr. restaurants and the Rally’s locations operated by CKE, as well as the company’s distribution centers in Anaheim and Manteca, Calif. Villarreal has been manager of distribution since 1993.
* William C. Norberg has been named Small Business Administration regional loan officer of Orange County for North County Bank. Norberg was formerly a financial consultant. He also held loan officer positions with Imperial Bank in Costa Mesa, Pacific Inland Bank in Anaheim and Mission Viejo National Bank.
* Sayed M. Badrawi has been appointed director of marketing for Pacific Biometrics Inc., an Irvine development-stage medical diagnostics company. Prior to joining Pacific Biometrics, Badrawi was chief operating officer for Dorne Medical Software Inc. in Irvine. He also held product management positions at Abbott Laboratories and Eli Lilly and research positions at Amgen.
* Ken Kadlec has joined Javelin Systems Inc., a Tustin designer and developer of point-of-sale terminals, in the newly created position of chief engineer. Kadlec was formerly principal engineer at Kingston Technology. Before that, he held positions at AST Research, Hughes Aircraft, Raytheon and T&T; Research.
* John A. Ollen is the 1997 president of the Orange County chapter of the National Assn. of Industrial and Office Properties. Ollen is director of international corporate services for CB Commercial.
* J.L. Donovan has been appointed assistant secretary to the board of directors at Fluor Corp. in Irvine. Donovan, who joined Fluor in 1983, became executive assistant to the chairman and chief executive in 1991.
* Sherry Molavi has been appointed media planner at Lawrence & Mayo Inc., a Newport Beach advertising agency. She was previously with Foote, Cone & Belding.
* Bernie Wu has joined Pinnacle Micro Inc., an Irvine recordable CD technology and optical storage systems company, as vice president of marketing. He will oversee product management, business planning, marketing communications and business development. Wu had been a vice president at the Storage Systems Group for Conner Peripherals/Seagate Technology since 1993.
* Tomas Schoenberg has been named senior vice president of acquisitions for Sares-Regis Group, an Irvine real estate company. He is responsible for directing commercial and residential acquisition activity in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest. He was formerly a vice president for Kemper Real Estate Management Co.
* Mark Creatura has joined Consumer Portfolio Services Inc. in Irvine in the newly created position of senior vice president, general counsel. He was formerly vice president and general counsel for Urethane Technologies Inc. Before that, Creatura was an attorney with Troy & Gould in Los Angeles.
