Jeff George’s visit to Kansas City tantalized Chiefs fans, who are aching for a quarterback that can lift the team to the Super Bowl. George met Tuesday with Coach Marty Schottenheimer, President Carl Peterson and offensive coordinator Paul Hackett. . . . First Mike Nolan, now Earl Leggett, and the Washington Redskins have two of the coaches that made the New York Giant defense one of the few positive aspects of that team last season. Earlier this week, Nolan was hired as defensive coordinator by Washington. Wednesday, the Redskins announced that Leggett had been hired as defensive line coach. . . . Two Redskins, wide receiver Michael Westbrook and tackle Bob Dahl, underwent successful knee surgery. . . . Fans flying to the Jan. 26 Super Bowl in New Orleans should make sure that any tour package they buy includes a guarantee of a ticket to the football game, the Transportation Department said.
