Granato, Fetisov Added to West Team

Tony Granato of the San Jose Sharks, and Viacheslav Fetisov of the Detroit Red Wings were added to the NHL’s Western Conference team for the NHL All-Star game, Jan. 18 in San Jose.

They were added to the lineup as Commissioner Gary Bettman’s “special selections.”

Two players will be added to the Eastern squad today.

Mike Craig of the Toronto Maple Leafs was suspended for two games and fined $1,000 for a cross-check in Saturday’s game that broke Vancouver forward Mike Sillinger’s nose. . . . Troy Mallette of the Boston Bruins was suspended for two games and fined $1,000 for elbow Grant Marshall of the Dallas Stars on Jan. 4.
