Ticketmaster Signs Pact With Disney: Ticketmaster Group...
Ticketmaster Signs Pact With Disney: Ticketmaster Group Inc. said it reached a four-year agreement with Walt Disney Co. to be the sole off-site ticket distributor for the entertainment company’s sports and theater operations. Terms of the contract, which lets Ticketmaster sell tickets via telephone, Internet and retail outlets, weren’t disclosed. The agreement covers the Anaheim Angels baseball team; the Mighty Ducks ice hockey team; the soon-to-be-opened Walt Disney Sports Facilities complex in Orlando, Fla.; and theaters in New York and Chicago. Los Angeles-based Ticketmaster already sells about 250,000 tickets a year for the Angels and Ducks. The new agreement could quadruple the number of tickets sold for Disney events, Chief Executive Fredric Rosen said in a statement.
