Coming Attractions

Here’s a look at key games this week for UC Irvine:

* Men’s basketball opens Big West Conference play Thursday against Pacific and plays Long Beach State on Saturday. Both games begin at 7 p.m. in the Bren Center. The Anteaters are 0-9.

* Women’s basketball opens Big West play Wednesday at Pacific and plays at Long Beach State on Sunday. Leticia Oseguera is averaging 17.9 points for the Anteaters, who are 5-6.

* Men’s volleyball plays in the 24-team UC Santa Barbara tournament Friday and Saturday. Steve Cavella had a school-record 55 assists in a victory over California in the season opener Saturday.

* Women’s swim team will host San Jose State and Loyola Marymount in a meet 2 p.m. Friday and Fresno State and Illinois at noon Saturday.
