Wolfsberger, Williams Pace Capistrano Valley Christian
MISSION VIEJO — Bryan Wolfsberger rushed for 112 yards in eight carries and scored a touchdown and Wayland Williams also contributed Friday night as Capistrano Valley Christian beat Riverside Bethel Christian, 60-8, at Saddleback College.
Capistrano Valley Christian is 4-3, 2-0 in the Victory League. Bethel Christian is 3-4, 1-1.
Williams ran 10 yards for the first of his two rushing touchdowns with 7:30 left in the first quarter. The Eagles led, 6-0, after missing the extra point.
Two minutes later, Andrew Jennings caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from Williams. Tim Baker scored on the two-point conversion to make it 14-0.
Jennings rushed 24 yards for his second touchdown for a 21-0 lead with 1:58 left in the first quarter.
On the Eagles’ second play in the second quarter, Wolfsberger ran 29 yards for a touchdown. Capistrano Valley Christian had a 27-0 lead after missing the extra point.
Williams, Baker and Jennings all ran for touchdowns in the second quarter to give the Eagles a 46-0 lead at halftime.
Capistrano Valley Christian’s defense held the Kings to 45 yards total offense in the first half and intercepted three passes from quarterback Luke Adams.
On the second play of the second half, Williams passed for his second touchdown, a 34-yard completion to Cory Brosch, to make it 53-0.
