LOS ANGELES COUNTY : Saks to Open Its First Men’s Store

Saks Fifth Avenue on Friday will open its first men’s store, at 9634 Wilshire Blvd. in Beverly Hills. The move is another sign of the growing importance of the men’s apparel market as the women’s market continues to languish. The upscale retailer has long had a Beverly Hills location at 9600 Wilshire. That site will be called Beverly Hills East and the new one will be called Beverly Hills West. The two will be operated by the same management team. The men’s store site had been an I. Magnin. Saks’ other Southland stores are in Costa Mesa and Palm Springs.
