Cypress’ Lopez Beats Fullerton
FULLERTON — Jenny Lopez pitched a three-hitter as Cypress beat host Fullerton, 2-0, in an Orange Empire Conference softball game Monday.
The victory keeps Cypress (17-4, 6-1) tied for first with Rancho Santiago. Fullerton (13-4, 5-2) falls a game back. Cypress plays host to Rancho Santiago at 3 p.m. Friday.
Cypress took advantage of two Fullerton errors to score unearned runs in the second and fifth. Lopez (5-2) had four strikeouts and walked two. She had three hits, including a triple, and scored a run. Briana Yoshina had two hits and drove in a run and Stephanie Bloomingdale drove in another run for Cypress.
