Olajuwon Too Much for Clippers
MEXICO CITY — The Clippers did their best against Hakeem Olajuwon in the first half Saturday night, holding him to four points. Olajuwon, however, scored 17 of his 21 points in the second half to lead the Houston Rockets to a 111-103 exhibition victory in front of 21,268 at the Sports Palace.
The Clippers led, 57-47, at halftime before Olajuwon rallied the Rockets.
The Clippers took their last lead when Malik Sealy, who had a game-high 22 points, hit a three-point shot with seven minutes to play to put the Clippers ahead, 92-91. A basket by Olajuwon then put the Rockets ahead for good, 93-92.
Elmore Spencer had 14 points and Tony Masssenburg 12 for the Clippers.
