Jeremy Fischer and Dolores Tuimoloau, state champions for Camarillo and Channel Islands highs in June, have been selected to Track & Field News magazine’s 1994 high school All-American team.

Fischer, a freshman at Wisconsin, was the top-ranked high jumper in the country and also finished third in the balloting for boys’ athlete of the year.

Andre Scott of Seminole (Fla.) High, who moved to second on the all-time national high school list in the triple jump (53 feet 7 1/2 inches), and Deworski Odom of Philadelphia Overbrook, who timed a nation-leading 10.26 seconds in the 100, finished first and second in the voting.

Fischer was undefeated against high school competition and his personal best of 7-4 at the Santa Barbara Relays in March moved him to second on the all-time state list and into a tie for eighth on the all-time national list.

He cleared 7 feet or higher in 11 meets and posted a grand slam of sorts by winning the State, Golden West, National Scholastic Outdoor and USA Track & Field Junior championships.

Tuimoloau, a freshman at Ventura College, was ranked third in the girls’ shotput.

Her personal best of 49-2 moved her into a tie for seventh on the all-time state list and she suffered only one defeat during a season that was capped with a victory in the Golden West meet.
