Brian Hogan ran for 221 yards in 24 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead host Corona del Mar over Saddleback, 37-7, at Orange Coast College, giving Mark Schuster his first victory as coach of the Sea Kings.

Hogan, who entered the game ranked third in the county in rushing, scored three times as Corona del Mar turned a 7-7 tie into a 27-7 blowout.

The Sea Kings (1-3) took advantage of two Saddleback turnovers deep in their own territory. A quarterback option fumble recovered by Aaron Perlmutter turned into an eight-yard touchdown run by quarterback Josh Walz early in the second quarter. Walz ran for 49 yards in five carries and scored two touchdowns.
