Team From Area Posts 7-0 Mark on Japan Tour
A team of Valley-area 14- to 16-year-old baseball players posted a 7-0 record recently in the U.S./Japan Friendship Series, playing teams in seven different Japanese cities.
“The people treated us well and we played well,” said Brian Kirby, a Chaminade freshman pitcher.
Josh Persell of Montclair Prep and Rodell Desamparo of Camarillo High were among the top players for the U.S. team, which was coached by Scott Drootin, Larry Sneiderman and Ron Coleman.
