Xircom’s Third-Quarter Earnings Increase 63%
Xircom Inc., a Calabasas supplier of mobile personal-computer networking products, reported that its fiscal third-quarter profit jumped 63%, to $4.2 million.
A year earlier, the company earned $2.57 million. Its sales in the quarter ended June 30 totaled $36.1 million, a 67% increase from $21.6 million in revenue in the year-ago period.
For the nine months, Xircom’s net income rose 78% to $11.6 million, while its sales climbed 61% to $92.7 million. A year before, it earned $6.49 million on $57.5 million in sales.
The company cited strong sales of its local-area-network adapters for portable PCs as a reason for its improved results.
