Stock Brokerage, 2 Principals Fined and Expelled by NASD
A Costa Mesa stock brokerage, Unex Capital Corp., and two of its principals have been expelled from the securities industry, the National Assn. of Securities Dealers said Monday.
Unex principal Lawrence Robert Hazlewood was fined $50,000 and barred from associating with any NASD member, while Mona Lynn Houseworth, also a principal, was fined $15,000. The company itself was fined $50,000.
The association said the actions were taken because Houseworth allowed Hazlewood to act as a principal and help run Unex though Hazlewood had never passed the qualifying test to become a principal and never registered with NASD as a principal.
Neither Hazlewood nor Houseworth could be reached for comment.
