The California Arts Council has raised the grant rankings of two Orange County music organizations. The Pacific Chorale went from a 4- last year to a 4 on the CAC’s 1 to 4 scale, while the Pacific Symphony moved from a 3+to a 4-. They have requested $39,632 and $221,283, respectively, in state arts support this year. The council’s rankings of two other groups were unchanged from last year: Master Chorale of Orange County, 3- (requesting $39,000); and Opera Pacific, 4-($221,283). Rankings are used to determine grant amounts, which the council will announce at its Sept. 8 meeting.
