Ford Recalling 22,000 Tauruses, Sables: The auto maker said it is recalling the 1988-90 vehicles with 3.0-liter V6 engines to replace the catalytic converters because the vehicles may not meet certain emissions standards. Cars affected by the recall are registered in federally designated high-altitude areas of the United States, which are more than 4,000 feet above sea level. Ford will make all repairs free of charge after owners are notified by mail to take the vehicles to authorized dealers.
