St. Bonaventure 18, Kilpatrick 0--Special teams play led to all three touchdowns at Ventura High.
St. Bonaventure (3-1) took a 6-0 lead early in the first quarter when Beau Rodriguez returned a fumbled punt return 35 yards for a touchdown.
Jim Lyon’s 28-yard punt return to the Seraph 34-yard line early in the second quarter led to a four-play drive, capped by Lyon’s 14-yard run, giving St. Bonaventure a 12-0 lead.
Lyon, who rushed five times for 30 yards, again returned a punt 28 yards in the third quarter to set up Brad Burnett’s 17-yard touchdown pass to Chris Mendez with four minutes to play.
The Seraphs forced six turnovers and held the Mustangs (1-3) to 93 yards of offense.
