FOUNTAIN VALLEY : Author Will Speak to Writers Club

Larry Meyer, a professor of journalism and an author, will speak Saturday on “The Ten High Hurdles to Good Prose” at a meeting of the National Writers Club, Southern California chapter.
The public is invited to attend the meeting of the Fountain Valley-based writers club at the Irvine Marriott, 18000 Von Karman Ave., Irvine. The meeting will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Meyer writes about history, travel and humor and has held several editorial positions.
His books include “My Summer With Molly,” and “The Journal of a Second Generation Father,” which won the 1990 Benjamin Franklin Award for autobiography.
Cost is $18 for non-members. Reservations are required and may be made by calling (714) 968-5726.
